Yant: Service Technician App (Android package kas.servio) · Published by KAS Group
Effective date: 2 October 2026 · Last updated: 2 October 2026

Yant ("the App", "we", "us") is a work tool for service technicians who look after RO water purifiers, air conditioners and other home appliances. It keeps a record of the machines a technician services and the customers who own them. This policy explains what information the App handles, where it is stored, who can see it and the choices you have. It is written for two kinds of people: technicians who sign in and use the App, and customers whose details a technician records. Please read it before using the App.

In short

  • Technicians sign in with Google. We receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google — never your password.
  • The App stores the work records a technician enters: customers, machines, service visits, parts, prices and payments. These are kept on the technician's phone and synced to our servers so they are not lost if the phone is.
  • A customer's phone number, WhatsApp number and address are recorded by their technician so they can be contacted for service. GPS location is recorded only if the technician switches it on while registering a machine.
  • The public sticker page a customer can open shows service dates and parts fitted and the technician's contact details. It never shows prices, costs or profit.
  • No advertising, no analytics trackers, no selling of data. The App is free.
  • You can ask us to delete an account and everything in it at any time.

1. Who we are

The App is developed and published by KAS Group ("we"). For any privacy question or request, write to kasgroupapps@gmail.com.

2. Information about technicians

  • Google account. Signing in uses Google Sign-In. We receive your Google account identifier, name, email address and profile picture. We use them to create and recognise your account. We do not receive or store your Google password, and we do not access your Gmail, contacts, calendar or any other Google data.
  • Profile. Your mobile number, business name and service city, which you enter during setup. These appear on the public sticker page so customers can reach you, and the city sets your technician ID (for example DL482913).
  • Payment details (optional). A UPI ID and, if you choose, a bank account number, IFSC and bank name. They are shown only on the payment page a customer opens from a reminder you send. Leave them empty and no payment page is created.
  • Work records. Everything you enter: customers, machines, visits, readings (for example TDS), parts fitted, warranty periods, prices charged, part costs, payment method, notes, and whether a credit ("udhar") amount has been paid.
  • Sticker codes. The QR codes you generate are reserved to your account so no two technicians ever hold the same code.
  • Push notification token. If you allow notifications, a Firebase Cloud Messaging token for your phone, used only to send the morning due-service reminder.

3. Information about customers

Technicians record information about the customers they serve. If you are a customer, your technician is the one who entered your details, and this is what the App can hold about you:

  • Your name, mobile number, WhatsApp number (if different), house or flat number, street or area, and city.
  • The location of your home as GPS coordinates, only if your technician switched on "Tag location" while registering your machine, so they can navigate back for the next visit. Location is never collected in the background.
  • Your machines (brand, model, type), the sticker code on each, service visits, readings, parts fitted and their warranty, and the amount billed and how it was paid.

This information is visible to your technician in the App and to KAS Group as the operator of the service. It is used to deliver and record the service you asked for, to send you service reminders and receipts on WhatsApp or SMS (sent from your technician's own phone, not by us), and to show you your machine's history when you scan its sticker. If you want your details corrected or removed, ask your technician or write to us at the address above.

4. The public sticker page and the payment page

  • Anyone who scans a Yant sticker opens a web page for that machine. It shows the machine's brand, service dates, parts fitted and any active warranty, the next service date, and the technician's name, business name, technician ID and phone number. It does not show prices, costs, profit, the customer's name, phone number or address.
  • If a technician sends you a credit reminder, it links to a payment page showing the amount due and the technician's UPI QR code or bank details. The page shows your first name and the amount only.
  • Sticker codes are long random codes. They cannot be guessed from one another, but anyone with physical access to a sticker can open its page.
  • These pages set no cookies and use no trackers.

5. Where information is stored

  • On the technician's phone. The App keeps a complete local copy of the technician's records so it works without a mobile signal. This copy is in the App's private storage, which other apps cannot read, and is removed when the technician signs out or uninstalls the App (unsent work is kept until it has been uploaded).
  • On our servers. Records are synced to a database hosted on Cloudflare (Cloudflare Workers and D1). Cloudflare stores data in its global network; it processes data on our behalf under its own privacy and security commitments. All connections use HTTPS.
  • With Google. Google handles sign-in and, if enabled, push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging). Google's handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

6. How we use information

  • To run the service: keep each technician's records, sync them between the phone and the server, and show the sticker and payment pages.
  • To send the morning due-service reminder to the technician's phone.
  • To operate and improve the service, including aggregate statistics (for example how many machines are serviced per city) that do not identify a customer.
  • To respond to support requests and to meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, do not show advertising, and do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the App.

7. Who can see what

  • A technician can see only their own customers, machines and visits. The server checks the signed-in account on every request; one technician can never read another's records.
  • KAS Group staff can view records through an administration panel in order to operate the service, help with support requests, and manage the list of cities, machine types and parts. Access is password-protected and every change is logged.
  • We disclose information to others only when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the service.

8. Permissions the App uses

PermissionWhy
CameraScanning the QR sticker on a machine. Nothing is recorded or uploaded; frames are read only to find a code.
Location (optional)Only when the technician turns on "Tag location" while registering a machine, to save the customer's home position for navigation next time. Never used in the background.
NotificationsThe morning list of machines due for service.
Internet / network stateSigning in and syncing records. The App itself works offline.

The App does not read your contacts, SMS, call log or files. WhatsApp messages, SMS, calls and map navigation are opened in the respective apps on the technician's phone; Yant only prepares the message text.

9. Data retention and deletion

  • Records are kept for as long as the technician's account exists, because a machine's service history is the point of the App.
  • A technician can retire a machine; its record is then hidden from all lists and its sticker page shows that it is no longer in service, while the billing history is kept.
  • A technician can request deletion of their whole account by writing to kasgroupapps@gmail.com from the signed-in Google address. We delete the account and all records within 30 days, except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation.
  • A customer can ask their technician, or us, to correct or delete their details.
  • Signing out removes the local copy from the phone; uninstalling removes everything on the phone.

10. Security

All traffic between the App, the sticker pages and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Sign-in tokens expire and can be revoked from the App ("Sign out other devices") if a phone is lost. Each request is checked against the signed-in account on the server. The administration panel uses password login with lockout after repeated failures. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

Yant is a professional tool for working technicians and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA) you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Technicians can see and edit most of their data inside the App. For anything else — including requests from customers — contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will change and, for significant changes, we will tell technicians inside the App. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
